Levels
This class is designed for babies and new walkers ages 6 to 18 months. A parent or caregiver participates in this fun class with their child. Both parents are welcome to participate if they like. Parents are taught techniques to enhance their child's comfort level in the water. Basics include water safety knowledge and practices, back floats, water submersion, and lots of fun and play in the water.
This class is designed for toddlers ages 18 - 36 months. As with the Aqua Babies class, a parent or caregiver is required to participate in the water with their child. In addition to the skills taught in the Aqua Baby class, we focus on swimming readiness skills, participant socialization, and entering and exiting the pool.
Snug-fitting reusable diapers or disposables made specifically for swimming are required for all children under the age of 3 - even those who are potty trained. Both are available at our swim shop.
Group Lessons
This class is designed for those who are being introduced to group swim lessons for the first time or for those who are unsure of the water. Students work on full submersion, assisted floating, and basic water skills. Fears are quickly alleviated in this nurturing and fun environment.
This class is designed for children who have had success with the basic fundamental skills. Children must be comfortable with full submersion and being in a class situation. Students work on gliding, floating unassisted, turning over and other fundamental skills. Games and toys are used to make the learning process fun and engaging.
This class is for children who have mastered the skills taught in Aqua Glider. Students focus on big arm strokes (freestyle) with rollover breathing and beginning backstroke.
This class is designed for those children who can do big arm strokes (freestyle), feel comfortable on their backs, and can swim the length of the pool. Students focus on side breathing, proper freestyle technique, and backstroke.
Aqua Pro
This class is designed for children who have mastered the freestyle and backstroke. This class focuses on perfecting the stroke form, building endurance, and introduction of the sidestroke, breaststroke, and butterfly.
This class is offered to children who have either been recommended by an instructor or have been evaluated and approved by the Aquatics Director. Childern will be divided based on skill level. Perfection of all four strokes, starts, turns, and endurance will be taught. USA competition swimming rules will be a focus for the Youth Squads.
Our preferred teaching method is in a group environment where children are not only learning from the instructor, but as importantly, are learning from each other. We do recognize, however, that some children do better in one-on-one situations. For those we offer private lessons. We will provide private lessons to children ages 24 months and older. Please come in or call to schedule.
We offer semi-private lessons which have a student to instructor ratio of 2:1. We recommend these lessons for children ages 30 - 36 months who aren't in the Aqua Babies class. Please come in or call to schedule.
